The Historic Stone House Restaurant and Country Inn of Farmington, Pennsylvania was established in 1822 and for centuries has been a local favorite for residents of southwestern, PA. The early 19th century original stone architecture has been standing out against the beautiful Appalachian mountains for nearly 200 years welcoming weary travelers along the the old national pike (US Route 40). So when Mason’s Mark was chosen to provide the stone veneer for the new Stone House Butcher shop we were very honored.
In December 2016, Jeremy opened Stone House Butcher and Provisions offering fresh meats, chicken and fish and adding beer and wine to the inventory in April of 2017. The butcher shop, located next to the historic restaurant in a beautifully renovated garage, is designed to compliment the traditional early 19th century Appalachian architecture. Mason’s Mark provided several hundred square feet of our Buckskin Limestone for the exterior during the renovation and it turned out beautifully.
Stone House Restaurant Chef Jeremy Critchfield says, “Everything comes down to food and hospitality. I like to think Stone House is one of the birthplaces of hospitality.” Many Fayette County, PA residents are likely to agree with him as they have been enjoying the Stone House for decades.
